Service Project: Salvation Army

  • Most Blessed Sacrament Parish Gym 449 High Avenue Oshkosh, WI, 54901 United States

For the past three years, the Sunnyview Youth have helped the Salvation Army get ready for their big Christmas toy distribution. People all over the community collect and donate toys for this and the Salvation Army has to price, record and separate well over 1000 different items before their distribution day. We step in and get this big job done. We normally take care of the majority of the donated items in just three hours. Each year when I contact them and say we are willing to help again, the Salvation Army staff gives a big sigh of relief!

I need as many students to help with this as possible. We will meet at the gymnasium of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish (449 High Ave, Oshkosh) at 9am. Parents are welcome to stay and help or enjoy a few free hours for a date or last minute Christmas shopping. I will then explain what we are doing and separate us into our working groups. We will be working from 9am to Noon. It is possible we finish before noon. If so, I will have the students call. Students can be picked up at the gym if they were dropped off.

Anyone interested in going should contact Jeremy Coggins so he can give the Salvation Army a proper count of those who are helping. Anyone not able to attend should let Jeremy know as well. Also, please contact Jeremy if you have any questions.
